BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Nottingham, Jonathan attended Nottingham High School where he began to kindle his longstanding interest in magic under the mentorship of Richard Gardiner, Member of the Inner Magic Circle.

His first professional performances were at the Lakeside restaurant at Papplewick in 2002. From these early performances he gained recognition in the Nottingham area, performing for clients such as Travis Perkins, CapitalOne, The YMCA, TGI Friday's and Nottinghamshire Law Society as well as a number of charities and numerous private parties and weddings.

Jonathan came to the North East in 2005 to read medicine at Newcastle University. His unique brand of close-up performance earned him a place in the prestigious Newcastle Magic Circle. In 2010, Jonathan graduated with Merit with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. He continued to balance his passions of magic and medicine — both art and science — whilst working as a doctor, and is now a Consultant Physician with an interest in training the doctors of tomorrow.

The marriage of magic and medicine affords Jonathan a strong set of interpersonal skills, dexterity, and professionalism — common attributes of the doctor and magician alike.

A new-thinker in his field, he also works on designing new magic effects. Recent international publications have been widely acclaimed, even featuring in television performances by top artists of the genre.

There aren't many doctors who perform as magicians of an evening, but I find magic and medicine a good mix and an excellent creative outlet.
